I feel rich, but it's sending me broke!

I just added four $5 notes to my stash.

I counted the money in the envelope (yet to replace the tine I broke into!) and was surprised at how fast it is adding up!

Year-long $5 challenge

While browsing pinterest ages ago, I re-pinned called something like 'The $5 challenge' and it intrigued me.

The general idea of this challenge is for an entire year, save every $5 note that you get, putting it into a money box.  At the end of the year, open your money box and go on a shopping spree, take your family on a holiday, do a mini-reno somewhere in your house, pay bills...

I've been doing this challenge for about 3 weeks now, putting my $5 notes into a big money box bought for $3 at the Reject Shop.  Miss 13 asked me earlier this week if I knew how much was in the money box.  I said that I didn't and she said that I should put a mark somewhere on the box every time I put money in there.  It seemed like I was ALWAYS putting notes into that money box and my curiosity got the better of me, so I opened it.   There was $80.  I was pleasantly surprised as I had only been saving my $5 notes for less than 2 weeks.

I'm not feeling 'broke', putting all these notes into the money box and it will be a pleasant surprise to find out how much I have saved in just under a year's time.
